Parallel is an independent Talent consultancy operated by Kate Greenland as a sole trader. This privacy policy explains how Parallel collects, uses and protects personal information in connection with the website, business enquiries and recruitment services. Depending on how you interact with Parallel, I may collect information such as your name, email address, telephone number, company, job title and information you provide when contacting me. When providing recruitment services, I may also process candidate information including CVs, employment history, qualifications, professional profiles, contact details, interview or screening information, role preferences and other information relevant to a recruitment process. Information may be provided directly by you, by a client I am supporting, or obtained from appropriate professional or publicly available sources such as professional networking platforms.

Personal information may be used to: respond to enquiries; provide and manage Talent and recruitment services; communicate with clients, prospective clients and candidates; identify and assess potential candidates for relevant opportunities; support recruitment and selection processes; manage business relationships and administration; and meet legal or regulatory obligations. Where required by data protection law, Parallel will process personal information using an appropriate lawful basis. Depending on the circumstances, this may include taking steps connected with a contract, complying with a legal obligation, or pursuing legitimate business interests where those interests are not overridden by an individual’s rights and interests.

When Parallel supports a client with recruitment, candidate information may be processed as part of identifying, contacting, assessing and progressing people for relevant opportunities. Where possible, the client’s recruitment system will be used as the primary record for that recruitment process. Candidate information will only be used where there is a legitimate recruitment-related purpose and will not be sold to third parties. Where information is obtained from another source rather than directly from you, I will handle it in accordance with applicable data protection requirements.

Personal information may be shared with a client where necessary for a recruitment process, for example when presenting a candidate for an agreed opportunity. Information may also be processed by service providers used to operate the business, such as email, cloud storage or recruitment technology providers, where appropriate. I will not sell your personal information. Information may also be disclosed where required by law.

I take reasonable steps to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or disclosure. Where I work within a client’s systems, information may also be stored and protected in accordance with that client’s security and data protection arrangements.

Personal information is kept only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, taking account of the nature of the information, the recruitment or business relationship, legal requirements and any legitimate need to retain relevant records. Information that is no longer required will be securely deleted or anonymised where appropriate.

Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you rights relating to your personal information, including rights to request access to your information, ask for inaccurate information to be corrected, request deletion or restriction of processing, and object to certain uses of your information.
